Qualified teachers are one of our most valuable assets. Our staff is composed of trained professionals, who have bachelor degrees in their subjects.
Lilian Barbosa
Mrs. Lilian has been working with us
for eight years. She has taught for
over 25 years. Her specialty is TK and
Kindergarten. Throghout the school
year Mrs. Lilian has tons of projects
with her students and they gain a great
understanding of the basics needed
for the first year. Her students move on
to 1st Grade already reading.
Michele Barbosa
Ms. Michele is our alumni. She has
worked at our school the past four
years. Her students are always found
by her side, for her sweet personality
attracts them to be constantly by her.
She is currently finishing her studies in
Early Child Education. With her love
and dedication for children, she is a
great asset to our school.
Yana Glinyuk
Ms. Yana is a graduate from CSUS.
She majored in Early Child Education.
Wherever there is a need, Yana is
prompt and willing to help. She is
currently teaching third grade,
however she has worked in the past
with all grade levels at our school.She
is sweet and caring with each student
she comes in contact with.
Anita Zic
Mrs. Anita has been teaching at
WPCS for over six years. She has
mainly worked with 3rd and 4th grades
and this coming year she will be
teaching 4th graders. She is extremely
organized and students learn the value
of discipline and hard work in her
class. She accomplishes all that with a
smile on her face and her students
know that she cares.
Elementary and Middle Teachers
Brigitte Portalanza
Ms. Brigitte works hard for her
students to understand the basic
mechanics of grammar and writing.
She has been teaching English at
WPCS for eight years and is also an
alumini of CSUS and WPCS. Her
laugh can be heard througout the
whole school, but don’t be mistaken,
she is serious about learning.

Angelica Cordova
Mrs. Angelica has been teaching Math
for over 20 years at WPCS. She has
also taught abroad for many years.
She has an advance program, where
students can work at their own pace
and quickly advance through grade
levels, which allows many of our
graduates to complete Algebra1 with
very developed problem solving skills.
Wilson Barros
Mr. Wilson is our vice principal,
Science, Agriculture, and Bible
instructor, and he also drives the bus.
He has been working at WPCS for
over 24 years. He teaches 5th-6th
science, 5th-8th health, and
agriculture to students from 1st-8th
grades. His dedication to the school
makes him well known and loved by
students, parents and staff.
David Zic
Pastor David Zic volunteers his time to
teach students the refined art of
speech. This is his sixth year teaching
speech to our students. He is a
member of the Toastmasters
organization and he has developed a
specialized program for our students
based on the bible and the most
current speech techniques. Students
have lots of fun in his class.
Vivian Camacho
Ms. Vivian has been working at our school
for over twelve years. Her formal training
includes a bachelor degree in Accounting
and Web Design/Engineering, and she
also has an Associate’s degree in Physical
Therapy. She primarily works in the office
but she is also our P.E. teacher and first
responder for injuries/emergencies.
Children love to visit her in the office.
Steven Cadena
Pastor Steven has been with us for
eight years. He primarily works driving
one of our four busses. He also helps
us with honey distribution, and
praying/counseling students that are
having a hard day. His smile is the first
thing children see as they walk into
their bus and the last thing they see
when they arrive home. He is a great
asset to our staff.
Jacoby Cobb
This is Mr. Coby’s forth year driving
the bus at WPCS. He is very punctual
with his route, and knows the students
very well. He enjoys playing baskteball
with the students during their break
time, and he is really good at it too.
He is a deacon and enjoys preparing
for his sermon presentations.
Nancy Fountain
Mrs. Nancy has been teaching at
WPCS for the past 21 years. She has
completed her bachelor degree at
CSUS in Liberal Studies and is
currently working on her Masters in
Education. She is also our principal,
staff coordinator and Art teacher. You
can see her roaming all over campus
working with teachers and students of
all grades.
Josue Salazar
Mr. Josue Salazar has been with us
helping us on 2nd grade, this is his
third year teaching at Whispering
Pines Christian School. He was
already working as a teacher aid at
public school prior to start working at
our school. Students have lots of fun in
his class with his art and science
projects.
